Saxon Gold Ring with Filigree Cross


7th-9th century AD. A flat-section gold hoop with triangular shoulders, discoid plaque; beaded wire frame to the shoulders and plaque, cross of piriform arms with granule detailing to plaque and shoulders. 7.68 grams, 22mm overall, 20.78mm internal diameter (approximate size British W, USA 11, Europe 25.0, Japan 24"). (3/4"). Very fine condition. A large wearable size. Property of a Nottinghamshire gentleman; acquired Germany in the early 1980s.
