A George III Mahogany Serpentine Four-Drawer Commode, circa 1770 , the moulded top above a pull-out brushing slide and four oak-lined drawers with original rococo-style handles, on moulded bracket feet with castors 112cm by 61cm by 85cm The top has some splitting and numerous deep scratches. The side panels are also bruised and scratched. The handles are missing from the pull-out brushing slide. Various bruising to the drawer fronts and the cockbeading (see images). Attractive colour and cosmetically good. With later brass handles and later bracket feet. Small repairs and small sections of the veneer have been replaced, mainly around the drawer fronts (see images). With key for the central cupboard doors to the interior. The other drawers are open but no key.
