1964 Honda CA72, 250cc. Registration number JMH 83B. Frame number 103797. Engine number 103777.

1964 Honda CA72, 250cc. Registration number JMH 83B. Frame number 103797. Engine number 103777. Known as the CA72 Dream Touring 250 in the North American market to which it was primarily aimed, was launched in 1962, with power up from the 20bhp of the outgoing model to 23bhp @ 8500rpm. This model went on to repeat the success of the earlier ‘Dreams’ attracting a new genre of motorcycle riders. They were characterised by a pressed steel frame and alloy overhead cam, twin-cylinder engine, and were very well equipped, with 12 volt electrics, electric starter, indicators, dual seats and other advanced features not common to most motorcycles of the period. JMB comes from a local deceased estate where the owner had lavished a full restoration on it, although sadly there is no paperwork related to the works undertaken. The MOT history goes back to 1980 in Sheffield at 16,754 miles, through to 1988 at 21,503 miles. 2004 and 2005 at 2,531 miles (presumably a new speedo), followed by 2007, 2008, and the last in 2009 at 2,635 miles. It is at 2,638 miles. Unused since the restoration it will need recommissioning for road use. Sold with the V5C and MOT's listed above.
