BROWN PELICAN (PLATE CCLI)

Pelecanus occidentalis Flora: mangrove, "Rhizophora mangle" JW 36 fine, fresh, brilliant impression, a smudge in the upper right margin, a few rust marks along the left disbound edge sheet 38 by 25 5/8 in.; 965 by 650 mm. Based on a composition probably painted in the Florida Keys in 1832. See color illustration on Plate X.
