SANDERLING (PLATE CCXXX)

Calidris alba JW 36 fine, fresh impression, a soft diagonal crease in the lower right margin corner, a slight smudge in the upper margin at left, faint offprint showing through on the recto 12 1/4 by 19 5/8 in.; 313 by 498 mm. Based on a composition probably painted in England in 1834 using specimens from East Florida.
