HUTCHINS'S BARNACLE GOOSE (PLATE CCLXXVII)
Canada Goose, "Branta canadensis" JW 36 fine, fresh impression, a slight crease in the bottom right margin corner, a few scattered specks of foxing, slight offprint showing through on the recto 26 1/8 by 21 3/4 in.; 664 by 554 mm. Based on a composition probably painted in Great Britain in 1834 or 1835. The bird represented is a subspecies of the Canada goose (see lot 201).
