MANKS SHEARWATER (PLATE CCXCV)

Manx Shearwater, "Puffinus puffinus" JW 36 very good impression, slight vertical ripples, very pale blue watercolor in the margin at left and in the lower right platemark (colorist's error) 12 3/8 by 19 5/8 in.; 314 by 498 mm. Based on a composition begun off the Newfoundland banks probably in August, 1831.
