CRESTED GREBE (PLATE CCXCII)

Podiceps cristatus JW 36 fine, fresh impression, rubbed in the left plate edge, a small tear in the left edge, a tiny scrape in the blank area at left, a few specks of foxing, slight offprint showing through on the recto 20 7/8 by 30 1/8 in.; 530 by 766 mm. Based on a composition probably painted in Great Britain c. 1835.
