RED-NECKED GREBE (PLATE CCXCVIII)

Podiceps grisgena JW 36 fine, fresh impression, very slight discoloration in the plate margins, a pale stain in the blank area at left, slight soiling in the margins 14 3/4 by 20 1/2 in.; 375 by 520 mm. Based on a composition perhaps painted in Boston 1832 or 1833.
