Carpodacus purpureus Flora: red larch, "Larix laricina" JW 27 fine, fresh impression, with brilliant color, slight rippling, slight soiling in the plate area, tiny losses in the edges 20 3/8 by 12 1/2 in.; 518 by 318 mm. Based on a composition painted by the artist while visiting the Great Lakes in 1824.
