FRIGATE PELICAN (PLATE CCLXXI)

Magnificent Frigatebird, "Fregata magnificens" JW 36 very fine, fresh impression, slight soiling, slight offprint visible in the blank areas of the recto sheet 38 by 25 5/8 in.; 965 by 650 mm. Based on a composition painted in spring of 1832 in the Florida Keys. The wing span of this bird reaches seven or eight feet.
