A beautiful officers flintlock pistol

dating: circa 1800 provenance: France, Smoothbore, octagonal, 15 mm cal barrel made of fine damask; tang finely engraved with flowers and provided with rear sight; elegant lock engraved with a stork and with a snake, houses and a cornucopia, provided with anti-friction and watertight systems, checkered wooden stock with checkered butt and iron mounts beautifully engraved with birds and floral motifs. Oval gold escutcheon. Iron ramrod. length 33 cm.
