Brown Noddy, "Anous stolidus" JW 35 very good impression, a few slight ripples at center, a diagonal crease in the lower left margin corner, slight soiling, slight offprint visible on the recto 12 1/4 by 19 3/8 in.; 313 by 493 mm. Audubon visited a nesting colony of these birds on Noddy Key in the Dry Tortugas on May 11, 1832. The landscape, added by Havell, has the dramatic character of a more northern coast.
