(normal toning, some unobtrusive staining at last few ff.). Mod. blind-stamped calf "à l'antique" by J. Schavye: covers with central panel showing the arms of Ghent with the Maid of Ghent and a lion in a Garden of Holland and the motto "Trov en liefde", within multiple double frames with decor. tools i.a. fleur-de-lis, orn. spine with 4 raised bands (binding very lightly rubbed). Good copy in an appropriate binding. First edition of a chronicle history of the Low Countries. At the end a "Ballade" by Marcus van Vaernewijck (who is sometimes considered to be the author). Woodcut illustrations: arms on title, arms of dedicatee (Adolf of Burgundy) on verso of title, 6 ill. (repeats), mark (Maid of Ghent) at the end. In Gothic type.
